Absolutely outstanding remix!
The quality of the the instruments is nigh flawless. Beautiful arrangement.
Those staccato strings throughout make me quite envious! =)

Regardless of the rating (I REBUKE YOU ZERO BOMBERS!!) This piece is awesome!
Keep up the great work!

I have to say, your skill with using those strings keeps getting better and better and when I heard that choir, my jaw dropped. (literally.) Absolutely amazing! The story was a nice touch and creates a very clear image when I hear this. It adds a lot to to the overall emotion.
If I may offer one piece of advice or rather an observation, the horns (from 2:52 and on) seemed a bit... hmm... loud? Too sharp I guess? Or maybe just the melody they were playing seemed to detract from the overall piece. I'm NOT saying get rid of them though. I could be very wrong though. It may just be me.
Regardless, an astounding piece of music for sure! Well done!

raxxroth responds:

Thanks a lot!

Regarding the horns, I wanted them to be quite powerful, expressive and "in charge", therefore, they accede the piece a bit. In addition, french horns are a practical tool to construct a suitable finale, and I wanted a more forceful, yet serene ending. However, thanks for the advice! Really appreciate constructive comments.

Hmm can't say as I agree with the first review about it being painfully slow. Some songs aren't meant to be sped up so you can get to "the good part" right away. To each his own though I suppose.
I personally thought it was well paced and the lengthy build helped me appreciate the finale even more.
Excellent quality. A happy song for sure!
Well done and I look forward to hearing more!

JosephAS1 responds:

exactly!

I really like it!
I particularly loved the strings. Very expressive and full.
Well done!

Nice work!
Reminds me alot of Hans Zimmer's "The Rock" soundtrack.
I like the bombastic, epic-ness of this track. Newgrounds seems to be lacking in this type of music.
Looking forward to hearing more!

Mmhmm!
Good stuff! Beautiful melody!
Just gotta love that melancholy music!
Great work!

"Voice isn't that great?!"
Nonsense.
I know it probably won't mean much coming from some random nobody but I am VERY picky about songs with vocals in them and what you have is a gift and I loved it! You have a wonderful voice and I particularly liked the harmony that you weaved thoughout the song as well as your pronunciations for the words in the dragon tongue.
The only thing that didn't seem to fit to me was the drums near the end. I think they may have been just a tad too loud or maybe it needed a different type of drum? Not certain.
Regardless, beautiful work and I look forward to hearing more!

Jessismith responds:

Hey thanks man. That means so much. I'm glad you liked the harmonies and background vocals that I added. And I was definitely trying to be clear and concise with pronunciation, so I;m glad it all came through okay.
I agree that the drums are probably a bit too loud. I just used a typical bass drum, like they use in war chants. That part of the song was sort of like a war chant...or more like the original one. I may change it up later.
But anyway, thanks again. I will most likely be submitting more vocal stuff soon, so keep an eye out. :)

Oh snap.....
I was sold after the first 15 or so seconds of this song. (I'm a sucker for this type of music.) =) The melancholy and somewhat haunting melody is amazing!!
I'm very envious of your skill/handling of percussion/music boxes.
Amazing job!

Rampant responds:

Thanks, glad you like it! This sort of music box-y stuff is really my most comfortable musical style.

Impressive!
An excellent track! I loved the strings throughout this piece and there didn't seem to be a dull moment in the entire song. It all flowed along quite smoothly.
Great work!

You know a track is good when you freak out cause' it stops just when it's about to get bigger.=)
Short or not, this is a gorgeous, swelling and sweeping piece you've written here. Love the chord progression throughout the whole thing and, if there is more too it, I can only imagine what the track sounds like as a whole!
Hope that new computer comes around soon because we must have more!=)

AshleyAlyse responds:

Thank you very much! I'm so glad you like it! :D I would really love to finish this song once I have the chance to. Sadly, it's probably going to be a while since I'm too sickly to keep a job at zee moment, but maybe I'll be lucky, who knows. :) Thanks again!

I am an aspiring musician and composer and hope to compose for video games and film one day. I am also an amateur artist
